Introducing the Half Full Stool: Ross Gardam's Sustainable and Playful Take on Modern Furniture Design

Ross Gardam’s Half Full Stool is a beautifully crafted piece of furniture that captures the designer’s minimalist aesthetic and commitment to sustainability. The stool is part of the Half Full collection, which features sustainably sourced oak timber and unique half-turned legs.

The name of the Half Full Stool, as well as the collection as a whole, is a nod to the idea of the “glass half full” – a positive outlook on life and a belief in the potential for good things to happen. This optimistic philosophy is reflected in the playful and handcrafted nature of the Half Full collection, and in the thoughtful and sustainable approach to furniture design that it embodies.

In addition to its symbolic meaning, the name Half Full also refers to the common half-turned leg that supports each piece in the collection. The half-turned leg, along with the exposed tenon joint, is key design elements that give the Half Full Stool and other pieces in the collection their unique and playful appearance.

The name of the Half Full Stool perfectly captures the essence of the collection – a celebration of optimism, sustainability, and handcrafted design. The Half Full Stool is a stunning and functional piece of furniture that showcases Gardam’s design expertise and attention to detail. Its functional yet minimalistic form make it a versatile and stylish choice for both commerical and residential spaces. The Half Full collection as a whole represents a thoughtful and sustainable approach to furniture design, and the Half Full Stool is a shining example of this philosophy in action.
