MID-LEVEL INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER (FULL-TIME)

 

Ross Gardam established the contemporary furniture and lighting studio in 2007 with the aim to create quality, original, accessible design. We offer a collection of internationally acclaimed products, each hand crafted in Melbourne by local artisans and manufacturers. All products are designed by Ross Gardam and embody a unique, modern aesthetic. The studio strives to achieve simplicity and purity in everything we do.

We have a full-time opportunity for a Mid-Level Designer to join our creative team of designers, engineers and makers in our Brunswick studio. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the team and Senior Designers across design and documentation tasks.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

·  Work collaboratively with design team to deliver projects to a high standard

·  Create and maintain detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and related documentation.

·  Assist Senior Designers with design tasks, including client presentations

·  Contribute to the design and development of new lighting and furniture collections

·  Working closely with the wider team to build a deep understanding of our product range

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA AND KNOWLEDGE

 

·  Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role

·  Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or similar

·  Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

·  Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control and inventory management

·  Experience with Xero and/or DEAR Inventory (highly regarded)

·  Previous experience working in the design or creative industry

·  Proficient in CAD software (Rhino highly regarded)

·  Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

·  Excellent communication skills

·  Friendly, proactive, and service-oriented

·  Able to work effectively with minimal supervision in an open-plan studio environment

·  Must have the right to work in Australia
